A Bat Mitzvah is the moment when a Jewish girl becomes a woman.

In a sense it is an almost literal transition from being a caterpillar to becoming a glorious butterfly. It is cause for great celebration and immense gratitude to Hashem.

The Bat Mitzvah program at Sandton Shul is co-ordinated and led by Shira Kaufman who invites the girls to explore various topics such as belief in Hashem, Mitzvot and the power of women. The studying culminates in a beautiful Bat Mitzvah ceremony in the Shul where the girls describe their learning’s in a meaningful and powerful address.
